Brad Thompson is Chief Investment Strategist for Frost Bank. He leads macro strategy, alternative investments’ selection & allocation; and is a member of the Investment Committee responsible for global asset allocation for Frost. Brad has worked at Frost for 17 years (since 2002). For much of this period he was Director of Research overseeing Frost’s equity fund teams, institutionalizing the investment process, including enhancing risk management.

Brad Thompson has more than 25 years of investment-related experience, including working for Assante Asset Management in Canada and Los Angeles as a senior analyst overseeing asset allocation & investment. Previously, Brad was a full-time tenured finance academic in Australia and Canada during the 1990s. Brad holds the Chartered Financial Analyst [CFA©] designation, is a member of the CFA Institute and is Past-President of the CFA Society of San Antonio; and received the Certified Investment Management Analyst [CIMA©] designation from the Investment Management Consultants Association. He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst [CAIA©] designation. Brad also sat on the global Professional Development board for CFA Institute.
Brad received the degrees of Bachelor of Commerce with Honours (Finance) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Tasmania at Hobart, Australia; and Master of Commerce with Honours (Specialization in Finance) from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He was awarded a Whitlam post-graduate scholarship to finance his advanced studies at the University of Melbourne; and was awarded the Hobart Stock Exchange Prize for Best Graduating Student in Finance.
